JSW celebrates success at The Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards.
Last Friday evening we had success at The Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards, at Headlingly, Leeds.
We, Team JSW joined some thirty family business finalists from across the region at The Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards on Friday 11th November.
Held at the iconic Leeds Headingly Stadium, the awards were a true celebration of all that is family business, representing companies of all sizes and from a variety of industry sectors.
A capacity crowd of over 200 gathered on the night to see the winners of the region’s best family businesses revealed. Hosting the evening were awards founders, Sue Howorth and Dave Clarkson alongside food writer and presenter, Nigel Barden.
We, JSW were named as a finalist earlier this year in three categories, were announced as the winner of the Employee of the Year category on the night.
Our Employee of the Year, Carl Foster was overwhelmed with suprize and pride and rightly so. ‘‘It was a wonderful surpize and amazing privididge not only to be nominated, but to actual win was something else.” Carl quoted. ”I didn’t think I stood a chance. There was a lot bigger companies with more employees nominated for that award so when they called out my name, I was speechless! It’s such an amazing award to win I’m happy and also very proud. A huge thank you to those who voted for me, it means a lot indeed.”
Carl goes above and beyond, the aftermath of his attention to detail and customer care is what many companies crave for. He is a natural with customers, as I have said before, every compnay needs a Carl..!” quotes Emma Watkinson, company MD, who along with her father, Alan Watkinson are extremely proud of Carl and of the accolade.

Dave Clarkson, Awards Co-Founder commented, “As this was the very first of our Family Business Awards to be held in Yorkshire and Humberside, we wanted it to be a really special occasion and we’re delighted with how it came together on the night. There is a huge wealth of talent, entrepreneurialism and passion that exists here, and the awards will help to profile and champion that.”
